OTHER INFORMATION

This piece has a different history depending on who you listen to so I will try to include all the versions here - she was made for a UK store (or catalogue company) but didn't sell well (or the shop / catalogue went bankrupt) and the remainder of the piece were shipped out to America. According to some she isn't a piece of Enchantica but she does come in a box with an HSC barcode and she has an Enchantica sticker on the base and is signed by sculptor John J. Woodward* and the artist and the latest info which came from Factory Manager Dennis Vyse just before he left the company in 2001 was that she wasn't meant to be a piece of Enchantica but she was sold in America as just that.

No matter what the truth is behind this piece I have included it because it is still a piece of Enchantica / HSC history and as such it deserves to be included.

It is in my mind the ugliest piece ever produced and does not fit in with the other pieces at all so I would go for the fact that it isn't realy Enchantica but the history is there to give it a link to the range

*Another piece of interesting information is that the piece was always listed as a John J. Woodward Sculpture, this isn't true, it was sculpted by Tom Raine who at the time worked for rival company Collectable World Studios creating Land of Legend Figures with Hap Henriksen. It was decided by Doug Mitchell (Snr) who bought the remaining stock to sell in the U.S. to put Johns name to it (after he had left HSC!) because he was better known to Enchantica fans!

This explains a lot because it looks a lot more like Toms sculpting style than Johns.
