EN2171 - Vladdigor
Vladdigor
In a far corner of the Marble Fortress, a steep valley crawls from the thin jaws of a remote fissure to rise into soaring crests of rock. This threadlike ravine, a distant tributary of the great gorge, is the stronghold of a sole dragon monarch; a jealous, rapacious creature who will suffer no other beast to inhabit his domain; his name: Vladdigor.
With his covetous guardianship and ferocious intolerance. Vladdigor has gained a reputation which has risen to the realm of myth and legend; an invincible adversary, whose distinctive scythe-shaped wings cut an imposing silhouette atop his lofty mountain perches. Many reckless knights have made the long journey to test their lances against the monsters scales but still he lives on: undisputed despot of the high valley.
So potent is his image thought to be that it is frequently used to emblazon the shields and armour of many northern warriors. Even Halmarand, legendary commander of the Fforlian armies, wears a gilded portrayal of Vladdigor on his helm; in the belief that this powerful symbol will invoke a measure of the dragons mighty qualities, and render the wearer invincible in battle.
