SCULPTOR PROFILE'S
ROB SIMPSON
Rob started working for HSC in 1993 as a designer and when John J. Woodward left on the 25th of April 1997, Rob took his place as head designer.
His first attempt at sculpting for Enchantica came in the form of the 'Mini Vrorst' piece which Rob intended as a test for a chess set but this didn't happen, he then Sculpted the Extravaganza piece for 2001 'Guardian of the Orb' which showed how much he had improved his style, even more so with the likes of 'Bloodhorn' and the magnificent 'Glimmerscale'.
Apart from Enchantica Rob has also sculpted the 'Mr Men' and 'Trumpton' ranges and there is definetely more to come.
He moved on from Royal Doulton when they finished Enchantica and he went to work at Mouldart, still as a freelance sculptor but he helped out around the factory with John Woodward when they had spare time, When Xystos took over Enchantica he found himself involved again, sculpting and designing but still freelance. on the closure of Mouldart, Rob has carried on where he left off and is still keeping himself busy with other projects like the TSL pieces exclusive to this site.
He has a strong interest in Fantasy and Sci-Fi films like Star Wars, Indiana Jones & the Crow among many others, he also has interests in motorbikes & cars and mechanics plus he loves his computer games.
Rob is very enthusiastic about the range and this comes across very clearly when you talk to him at the shows.
