2002 Dragonsite Show
The second Dragonsite show was again held at Moddershall Oaks on the 26th of May 2002.
This shows the warehouse and at the far right is the edge of the main building

This time there was more for the visitor to see because this was the first proper show, I was asked by Dea Holland if I wanted to help out, I was more than eager, so I was put in charge of selling a lot of Phill & Dea Hollands old Enchantica and HSC stock, this consisted of a lot of Rattajacks & Snappas plus a selection of early pieces, there were also a lot of unpainted whites! (I was in heaven surrounded by whites, but in hell because I wanted them all for myself!!!!)
This was my little area where I spent most of the day selling off surplus enchantica stock for Phill & Dea, it was actually Andrew Bills workshop at one point at the back of the warehouse

There were lots of new pieces for collectors to buy and preview, Andrew Bill was there to chat to collectors and the late Doug Mitchell (owner of Dragonsite in the U.S) was there too

Two painters from HSC days (Chris Hughes & Gary Lovatt) were there giving painting demonstrations of some Enchantica pieces and a Dragonsite Vansal (they had a choice of piece from the whites I was selling), these pieces were subsequently sold in the auction at the end of the day.

Gary Lovatt also painted this Desert Dragon at the show

And Chris Hughes finishes of Vansal (the clear resin for the water had to be added later)

Plus this was the first time the public got to see Spellbound, it was listed as The Librarian at the time and collectors had the chance to pre-order one with a £25.00 deposit, the lucky people who did order them managed to get hold of the rare first editions that were different to the later production Spellbound pieces.
The first public viewing of The Librarian, later to be called Spellbound

Following on with an Enchantica Extravaganza tradition was the colouring competition, these are always popular.

Finally to finish off the day like any good show, there was an auction held to sell some paint trials and a few pieces painted by Caroline Briggs especially for the show
The crowd eagerly await the start of the auction

Little did anyone know at the time that collector Adrian Donati (holding the can of Tango) would eventually become the new owner of the UK side of Dragonsite when Phill & Dea Holland later decided to sell up and concentrate on the health spa instead.
And who is that long haired lout lurking at the back with the brown t-shirt? Oh! that would be me then!

Please note that the photos above are a mix of my own & some taken by someone else, either a collector or Dea Holland, I can't remember!
If anyone knows who took the photos WITHOUT the copyright notice on them could you please
