Re-Paints, Artist Proofs etc...

This section is to show off artist proofs and pieces painted at promotional show plus collectors pieces that they have had repainted by professional artists like Tina Sherratt and Caroline Briggs or that they have repainted themselves.
I have included the repaints/artists proofs that were available at the Dragonsite auctions but any paint trial pieces that are very similar to the finished production piece are not shown here but can be found on the standard piece pages.

There are different types of different colour schemes and all have different values to collectors, for this reason I've separated them into three separate lists. Please be careful when buying pieces in non-standard colours, make sure you know exactly what you are buying.

Official Artist Proofs, Paint Trials & Show pieces
The most sought after pieces are the officially sanctioned pieces, these range from paint trials & artist proofs to pieces painted especially for events and auctions, these are historically the most important pieces because they are painted by factory or commisioned artists and are a genuine part of Dragonsites history.

Professional Repaints
The second type are repaints that may have been done by a professional artist (often by artists who have previously worked for HSC/RD or Collectable World Studios) but they are second hand pieces that have been stripped and repainted (occasionally a blank unpainted white can be found and painted but these fall into the same category) these are usually pieces that collectors have asked artists to paint in a different colour scheme for them and are usually spare/repeat pieces the collectors have.

Amateur Repaints and Paint-Your-Own pieces
The third type are pieces that collectors have repainted themselves or have asked another collector to paint for them, these are obviously the least valuable pieces to other collectors (and are looked down upon by many collectors), they are special to the owners but resale value is not really going to be very high at all because other collectors want official pieces or professional repaints, so even though these can be really well done, they are not really of any value to anyone other than the person who painted them (or the person who got another collector to paint it for them).
