OTHER INFORMATION |
I love the humour in this piece, just by switching around the film title (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) and placing the tiger tail in the dragons mouth. it's a simple twist of words but very effective. It was also a nice change for Andrew Bill to sculpt an oriental dragon and he could have a break from sculpting wings which I think he enjoyed |
Below is the original concept artwork for Crouching Dragon, Hiden Tiger and is copyright of Andrew Bill
Below are pictures of the original wax sculpture taken on the 5th of May 2006
The four photos of the wax sculpture below were taken at the same time as the ones above but I just asked Andrew Bill if I could take photos without the Tiger tail in the mouth as this would be the only opportunity to do so. Also note that the book title was on the front of the piece until it was discovered that the dragons tail covered it up so it was moved to the back, but as my friend Emma (woodlandfae) pointed out to Andy, it doesn't mater about the name being on the back because the Japanese book would be read from back to front
