Dragons are a form of reptile, hence they came from eggs. But no ordinary eggs! The shell of a Dragon’s egg contains many magical properties, including an ingredient which offers eternal life. To ensure his own survival, the young Dragon eats his own egg shell, thus giving himself both nourishment and the ability to survive all but the best equipped of adversaries.
Should a human come
upon a Dragon’s eggshell he would be well advised to consume it, for its
life-giving properties. To eat a
Dragon’s heart will provide the ability to understand the language of birds;
the Dragon’s tongue enables the eater to win any argument. Drinking the Dragon’s blood is a prophylactic
against stab wounds – a particularly useful benefit in the turbulent dark ages
when Dragon’s abounded. In fact any part
of the Dragon contains magical qualities.
