Below are photos of the wax sculpture (all photos copyright of Rob Simpson).

This is the wax at an early stage, the main body is together but it needs all the detail like scales adding and the wings have to be completed, at this point the head had already been sculpted and cast in a mould so that a more solid head could be used to test fit while sculpting the rest of the piece.
