 MAI’TERITH

GOOD MOTHER DRAGON

Of all recorded dragons within the span of the origin of Dragongorge no one species is more caring and defensive of its young.  This heavily armoured, poisoned spined dragon would duel with the mightiest of opponents in the defense of its offspring.  Incubation is done in herds, each never straying more than a few krills from its eggs during the six, of our month period.

A curious and wonderful not however is that when the young are able to fend and fly for themselves, the poisoned spines literally drop off, enabling Mia’Terith to fly with its young to better feeding grounds.  A typical dragon of this species will breed three to four times in its lifespan with a typical batch of six eggs each time.  A fully grown female would weigh up to three pariqs and stand five krills high.  Its geographic locations range from the secluded rocky regions of the North when incubating down to the open Southern plains when feeding.  It is omnivorous, eating and storing lots of protein enriching plant life prior to incubation.

One last note is that the collected disguarded spines have been used by the wizards for many centuries in preparing potions and antidotes.
