EN2227 - Morardris

 Morardris

and the Treasure Seeker

We had strode for three days into the wastes, camping each night without a fire for fear that it would betray us to the nocturnal prowlers.  Sleeping under icy rocks, in crystal caverns where the wind could not tear away what little inner warmth we still possessed.  There were no snowhoppers in these wastes, and it was for that reason that we came.  For who but the foolhardy would live in a dragon’s domain, each night Kinraine wrapped in his cloak had watched the silhouette of Morardris in the clear winter night sky, sometimes passing almost overhead and strained his eyes searching for the beasts lair when he returned from the hunt.  As the dawn rays streaked across the plains of fresh snow, again Kinraine watched as the icelizard sank into the valley that we had been heading for all along; and if you had been there, you too would have seen the lust for dragon’s gold burning in the eyes of my friend.  That day I left him at the foot of the valley, there is no shame in the fear of dragons so they tell me, and he would not turn from his desire for all the words I had.  Its only been five days since then and I await his return in this tavern, good journey to you my friend, and wish me well that I may meet my friend the treasure hunter again…
