EN2252 - Terragor

 TERRAGOR

As the army of Goblins breached the outer rim of Pantheera’s mighty fortress, the air thick with arrows and fear, a voice like the beating of a thousand funeral drums lifted above the melee.  Terragor, spawn of the dark master Maldreth, had joined with the Goblins to do battle with the men of the East.  The mere sight of this terrifying beast swooping down into the fray was enough to dismay even the strongest battle-hardened warrior.

The dragons great cape of leathery wings extinguished the dying rays of the sun, its horned brow lowered to regard the ordered ranks of its enemy and through its mighty jaws issued a mighty column of fire.

The flames engulfed the Pantheeran ramparts and the brave souls they contained in a searching pool of death.  Terragor, the fire breather had struck and Maldreth’s hordes smelled the scent of victory in the thick smoke of ruin.

OTHER INFORMATION

This is actually the second sculpt of Terragor, the first version was sculpted by Ken Fallon and it was much larger than this one but an accident meant that Craig Davison was called in to sculpt a replacement for it. (For more information on the original version scroll to the bottom of this page)

I have added a little animation at the bottom of this page that was done by fellow collector Dave Poole, I'm sure you will agree it is pretty cool.

Original artwork of Terragor below was drawn by Rob Simpson and as such he owns the ©copyright to this art - used with kind permission

---------------------------

The photos below show what Terragor was nearly like! This version was sculpted by Ken Fallon. It was designed by Rob Simpson to stand 11" tall but Ken got carried away and it became 2 foot in height with a wing span of 2 foot! He worked on it for 6 weeks and then had to take some time off work due to his fathers ill health and when he returned he found that the sun had come through a skylight and melted it! So Craig Davison sculpted the smaller version we have today. Some collectors have been trying to convince Ken to re-sculpt his version though.

The photos below were kindly supplied and taken by collector John Noble (who owns the copyright to them) while on a factory visit, as you can see the upper part of the wings need sculpting and there is still a lot of detail work yet to be added.

The photo below of it virtually completed was shown in one of the collectors club newsletters

The animation below was created by Dave Poole and he owns the ©copyright to it - please don't copy it - used with his kind permission, please visit his site
