This
piece was released painted in
the same white colours as the
rest of the range as requested
by the U.S. but I'm sure
it would have sold much more
if it had been painted in 'Lion'
colours like a few were done
as paint trials later on (Pictures
in the Artist
Proof Section)
I
have heard it didn't sell well
when released, so it is funny
that it is now one of the most
sought after pieces in the whole
range
Early
pieces had a name, year and
edition stamp at the front but
on later pieces the stamp has
been covered for some reason
(possibly because the stamp
usualy goes on the back and
it looked odd on the front)
I have number 12 and
I have seen number 55 and both
have the name, year and edition
stamp so I don't know when the
change was made, also early pieces came with
a plain grey 'felt base' but
later pieces had the normal
named base like the rest of
the range, I think that this
was due to there being a rush
to get the piece out but the
named 'felts' were not ready
so they were released with plain
bases.
An
artists proof paint sample of
this piece was sold at the 1996
Enchantica Extravaganza auction
(Lot No.20) for £150
Two
others were sold in the 1997
auction (Lot No.s 7 & 8)
for £420 & £310
