La Di Da Toogoode
La di Da would probably have split the court into two camps. Those who loved him and those who hated him. A fool of flamboyant ways, outrageous manners and colourful dress, his main appeal was to his master. The womenfolk of the court, however, would have despised his insistence that he was more attractive than they. He would say to the Queen and her ladies in waiting those malicious and barbed things it would have been imprudent for the King to say, if he valued a peaceful life. Most Kings experienced enough of wars and political turmoil without bringing trouble upon themselves at home.
The image on La di Da’s bauble mirrored his own view of himself. He would treat it as his best friend and converse with it continually, much to the amusement of the court.
