Leviathan
Leviathan, is akin to Rex Oceanis, serpent of the depths , which was slain by Baal in Caananite legend. Lotan was the cause of dreadful chaos at sea, throwing up terrible currents and waves which destroyed countless ships and coastal villages.
Although Baal was triumphant on this occasion, the Dragon of the seas and oceans was never fully vanquished. Sailors throughout the centuries kept an ever vigilant look-out for signs of such terrible creatures, as they believed disaster was sure to follow.
To this day, man cannot be certain of what lurks in maritime depths – watching… and waiting.
