Giants and Ogres by Tom Raine

Ymir

(This is an official photo, if you can help with more photos please email me)

In accordance with German and Scandinavian mythology, as the ice melted caressed by warm southern wind Ymir appeared and was the first of living beings and the father of all giants.
Ymir was eventually killed by the Gods he created and his body formed the 'middle abode' between land and his blood the sea. His bones became the hills and mountains and his hair the plants and trees. His head was raised up on four massive pillars and created a vault that was the heavens and into this vault came errant sparks from the kingdom of fire and they were the Sun, the Moon and the Stars.
