OTHER INFORMATION

This was the Extravaganza piece for 2000

Also note the delicate detail, the second pointer after the 1999 Extravaganza piece as to what Andrew Bill was aiming for with the range, detail like this would finally turn up on Andrews Verbum Magus range instead

A few years later Mummichog (the rider) was sculpted as a figure in his own right as EN2373 Mummichog

This is a prototype paint trial of Wings of War that I own. when I received it in the post it was badly broken but I had it repaired at Mouldart who did a fantastic job.The photos below show how I received the piece in the post

I was going to get it repainted in a different colour but since it was a paint trial and hand painted in the UK I decided to have it blended in instead

The most obvious difference is the lack of the base from the production piece

The 2 photos below show the differences in painting of the head

Production Piece

The prototype - less shiney, more shading on the neck fin, red dot behind the eye and copper ribbon for the reigns (which were replaced with painted copper wire on the production piece

The 2 photos below show the differences in painting on the wings

Production Piece

Prototype - The wings are darker and hand painted instead of spray painted and the pattern is more defined

You can see the copper ribbon reigns clearly in the photo below and I think they look much better than the copper wire that was used on the production pieces

The 2 photos below show the differences in painting on the fins

Production Piece

Prototype - darker and more detail on fin

Because there isn't the base of the production piece the leg isn't attached to it

Below are the prototype and production pieces side by side

Below are official photos of the original wax sculpture
