EN2315 - Silfaladil

Silfaladil

Hexerne slowly became aware of a half circle of dark figures standing just inside the clearing.   They were as tall as she; with skin as pale, eyes as blue, and hair long, silky and black.  They were dressed in close fitting warriors’ garb: layered rows of leaves made from a material of an indefinable colour covering their lean, willowy forms.  A longbow and quiver was carried by each of them; a haze of enchantment hovering above the collected flights of their arrows.  As Hexerne looked on, two of the shadowy figures, whose clothing seemed to share the same camouflaging quality as Mezereon’s cloak, stepped towards the sorcerer, and, in a similar manner to a fisherman casting his nets upon the water, added their magic webs to those already drawn about him.

Hexerne scrambled to her feet and turned to flee from the clearing, and as she did so her eyes met those of Silfaladil.  The Elf prince was standing before the graceful form of Elleseshelle, and his piercing blue eyes stared out from a face whose expression was struggling with conflicting emotions.  The girl clutched the knapsack to her and backed away from the prince.  The smile which eventually stayed on his lips was warm but uncertain.  Hexerne stared at him impassively, like a concerned animal trying to conceal its thoughts of escape.  “Hexerne, Silfaladil said breathlessly.  “we meet again.”
