DRAC
TERRIBLIUS

Hatched
from an egg like all other dragons but more terrible and vengeful, Drac Terriblius
was reputedly the most feared dragon of his era. The ‘Dragon of the Golden Hoard’ guarded his
treasure with zealous ferocity and would destroy homesteads if he had to but…
other than that… he was quite calm and contemplative. NOT ‘Drac Terriblius’ – everything upset him
and he spent all of his days in fury and rage pillaging and plundering and not
adverse to taking human quarry almost at a whim.
‘Drac
Terriblius’ lived a long life and in his latter years was befriended by a
worldly wizard but he never did find what he was looking for and died at the
hands of 49 strong men from the village after a battle lasting just over two
days.

This
is one piece which I hated when it was released,
I never liked the colours, so when I visited
Mouldart in November 2005 and saw an unpainted
white I found myself surprised that I actually
liked it unpainted, I still find it an odd
piece though

Then
in February 2006 I visited collector Alastair
Dunning to photograph his collection only
to find that he too saw the unpainted white
at Mouldart and he bought it and had it
painted by Tina Sherratt, I think it looks
far better in this colour scheme than the
production colours

Just to add further curiosity to this piece, below are photos of what is thought to be a prototype of Drac Terriblius owned by Christine Clarke (who supplied the photos) in much more muted greens & browns and with completely different & much smaller wings which really change the look of the piece.
