EN2365 - Throstle
Throstle
All three figures seated on the stone slab bridge turned as one to face the newcomer. Suddenly the girl erupted into a howl of delight.
“Throstle!” she squealed.
Ethva scrambled to her feet and ran to greet the tall figure emerging from the generous shade of a large iron beech. If Jonquil and Rattajack had been anticipating a personage with an appearance similar to the richly adorned Heskel, they could not have been more mistaken. The wizard that stepped into the sunlight was clothed in a simple, dowdy robe made from plain, earthy coloured cloth woven for strength rather than show. The first thing to notice was the well-worn wide brimmed hat, its long thin point bent in half and weighed down with dangling beads and charms. The broad band above the rim was stuffed with a variety of herbs, feathers, grasses, sticks and protruding into the air most notably a long, beautifully carved flute.
